Lachlan Bell

Creating across textiles, photography and graphic design on Wallumedegal land, Lachlan Bell interrogates the nature of storytelling and truth telling in art through topics of familial legacies, communal memory loss and speculative history in relation to his Estonian-Australian background. Lachlan creates works in tandem and draws upon shared references tethered to his love of nature, archives and ephemera both physical and digital, often collaborating with family and community to create new works that challenge notions of ownership and attribution.
