A&D ANNUAL 2022

Claire Paul

Claire Paul uses photographic processes in conjunction with printmaking technologies to distil the meditative impact of her walking practice into images using alternative methodologies and materials. Rejecting notions of human domination and pursuing a collaboration with the environment, her works employ various methodologies which mimic the essence and pace of her discourse with the landscape. Pinhole photography is used with caffenol developer to capture forms along her walks. These images are then transferred onto screens before begin screen printed using charcoal and ash onto paper handmade from both recycled artworks, as well as plant matter sourced directly from the bushland where the walks are conducted.
