\u2018Ace-Waste\u2019 is an educational app designed to target the issue of waste management for primary school students. Utilising relevant design theory and ideas, this educational app cultivates waste management awareness of primary school students by establishing user experience as its core. Through background research, it was apparent that primary school students currently face three main issues when waste managing. These three issues include: a lack of thorough understanding regarding different waste types; a lack of motivation to categorise wastes daily; and a struggle to find relevant information.
\nBy targeting the three user pain points, the educational app is designed with a ranking system as its main function to increase children’s motivation. The app design centres around primary school students, it could also be used in collaboration with local schools and councils to provide educational support for students.
