A&D ANNUAL 2021

Karin Mizuno

Karin Mizuno's practice explores ideas of routine, intimacy and identity found within the everyday. Using graphite drawings, her small-scaled series feature the incessant moments of habit within the ordinary that are commonly overlooked to retrace focus to these particular events. By depicting such details within a realistic interpretation, she forces a re-evaluation of these seemingly fleeting moments that are in fact imperative to individual control found in the everyday cycle. Karin utilises an assemblage of the object, the body, domestic space, photography and drawing interchangeably throughout her process.
