In Medias Res\u2019 explores an experimental documentary format inspired by traditional documentary styles and techniques, as well as those of the contemporary \u2018vlogging\u2019 culture made popular on YouTube. Latin for \u2018in the midst of things\u2019, this film captures Amy\u2019s reality, collating a record of her life and experiences throughout 2020. Guided by a self-imposed manifesto and limited by restrictions and regulations due to COVID-19, the portrayal of self arises questions of performativity and authenticity with constructed narrative in documentary film.
