Sophie Lane

Examining how care interacts with the way language holds, receives and communicates emotion, Sophie Lane’s practice engages feminist perspectives to locate vulnerability in everyday life. Using written accounts of emotional experiences alongside familiar everyday objects, the work identifies care practice as daily work. In resisting the patriarchal association between vulnerability and weakness, Sophie aims to use art and language as methods of healing, and to encourage vulnerable healing in others.
