A&D ANNUAL 2020

Rucci Anne Oabel

Rucci Anne Oabel’s practice as a designer-maker explores the transformation of materials through a synthesis of sustainability and semiotics. Rucci works across jewellery, textiles, and furniture, mainly integrating pieces sourced from found objects. While these objects are both conceptualised and improvised, the aesthetics are often outcomes of her instantaneous encounters, temperaments, and decisions. In the same manner, the designs form a broader practice of showcasing interpretations and the extent of materials.
