Nawwarah Alkaff

Nawwarah Alkaff is a graphic designer that uses cultural influences in her practice. Coming from a Malaysian background, she has been incorporating parts of her identity into her work. Her recent work ‘InThe LandOf’ explores the possibilities of ‘third space’. This work is a bi-annual participatory zine that focuses on the notion of cultural hybridity within international students in Sydney. The zine is designed to convey a narrative and encourage critical evaluation of the possibilities that go beyond the individual perception of culture. It serves as an open space where communities can create hybridity of culture and empower their cultural journey alongside rapid global changes.
