A&D ANNUAL 2020
Liv Connon
Liv Connon's expanded photographic practice incorporates film photography, digital collage and Photoshop manipulation. Through these methods, she investigates the human histories hidden within contemporary Australian landscapes, informed by an ecocritical framework. Through the layering of imagery and collage elements, Connon explores the multi-spatial and temporal layers of the Wolli Creek Valley. In 'Landfelt', Connon intrudes upon and conceals these landscapes using black frames and shapes, exploring human impact and environmental degradation. By creating these amalgamations of greenery, black frames and colonial iconography, she explores the human and non-human entanglements present within Australian landscapes.
