A&D ANNUAL 2020
Fiona Tong
Is being on your phone at the dinner table socially active or disengaging? Perhaps it's both. In a society that is driven by modern social technology, lies at its core; ironies, paradoxes and contradictions. With a background in Media Arts, Fiona utilises video projection, layering, and embodiment to engage with the polarising theories of modern social technology, questioning what is considered to be socially charged in our current society. Her work urges us to reconsider what it means to be social in a period where social technology is intertwined with daily life, particularly in the context of a global pandemic.
