Elizabeth Thanklice

Elizabeth Thanklice's design project addresses the social stigma faced by the deaf community who comprise one-sixth of the Australian population. This project aims to celebrate deaf pride and create awareness, urging society to reframe their understanding of the community as ‘differently abled’ rather than ‘disabled’. Elizabeth has designed a non-obtrusive, customisable statement piece for the hearing-impaired youth of Australia to assist them with developing a sense of pride in their identity.
