Elizabeth Lewis

Elizabeth Lewis’ expanded ceramics practice draws on forms of vessels and a process of composting past work to create refined archives through collage. These integrate sketching, painting, handmade paper, and photos of ceramics, digitally assembled to construct vessels that transcend a single textural materiality and tactility. Her methodology has a cyclical nature, taking drawings that may have been sketches for past or future works not yet realised, and reworking them until they find a form that serves her practice.
